Jessica Detten

Mrs. Detten is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a B.S. and M.S. in Animal Science. She received her teacher certification and M.A. in Teaching from West Texas A&M University. While in college, she completed internships in both the state and federal legislature.  Before becoming a teacher, Mrs. Detten coordinated the Agricultural and Natural Resource Policy Congressional Intern Program at Texas A&M University and then worked in the Amarillo office of U.S. Representative Larry Combest.  She currently teaches Social Studies at HPA. Previously, she taught leadership and the agriculture classes at HPA.

Mrs. Detten and her husband have two sons, Jack and Sam, and two daughters, Rachael and Avery.   In her free time, she enjoys baking and showing sheep with her family.
